Wind Energy Training course

Wind Energy Training course

On 14/12/2007, GBS staffs graduated the Wind energy training course oganized by Hanoi University of Technology and German partners TU Dresden and WAT Company

The continuous development of production and human life makes big demand for energy . Yet, the run-out of natural fossil resources such as coal, oil, gas … results in higher energy cost and commodity price, which badly affect our daily life. Furthermore, the use of those kinds of energy shall cause environment pollution and climate change, which can be seen in the ongoing acts of God. So, it is critical to look for a non-polluted, plentiful energy for now and future. The headway is to research and apply renewable energy, which is popular in some countries but quite new in Vietnam . We have no education setup on renewable energy so far.
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Hanoi University of Technology, in coordination with WAT Company and the TU Dresden of Germany has built-up and carried-out a project on training human resources on renewable energy, and wind power in particular, as part of the program on national target of using energy economically and effectively. Stage 1 of the project includes 4 training courses on wind energy and Germany advanced application, taking Vietnam conditions into account.
Course 1 shall be contributed by German professors and specialists of rich experience on wind power, including Prof. Dr. Peter Werner from the Dresden University of Technology, Dr. Peter L.A. Henigin, Operation Manager of WAT Company, Engineer Eymann, also by Vietnamese Prof. Dr. Dang Dinh Thong, Manager of Research Center on renewable energy from Hanoi University of Technology, Dr. Le Hung Anh …
There are 60 learners from departments of industry and companies operated in renewable energy.
The course closed on 14/12/2007.
“This course is short, but brings about rich, useful, basic knowledge for learners who contribute to the coming wind energy of Vietnam .” – Quoted Engineer Trai from the HCMC Center on renewable energy as saying.
Dr. Henigin remarked: “ The course is close, but it is the beginning of the cooperation between companies, donors and authorities relating to renewable power in Germany and Vietnam .”
According to the Representative of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Vietnam ’s objective up to 2015 is to produce 200 MW of wind energy compared with 200,000 MW of Germany.
